Chizik apologizes for ‘completely unacceptable offensive performance’

In the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s 24-7 loss to Arkansas, Auburn coach Gene Chizik did not hold back in his assessment of the Tigers offense.

“Offensively, one of the most poor performances I have seen in a long time, just point blank,” Chizik said. “It was a completely unacceptable offensive performance all the way around. Again, I can’t put it any more clearly than that.”

Many of the 85,813 fans at Jordan-Hare stadium could not bare to watch anymore of performance which featured a five turnovers and eight sacks and headed for the exits early. Chizik apologized to Auburn fans.

“I didn’t see fans leave,” Chizik said. “But I don’t blame them. The Auburn fans and the Auburn Family, they did not deserve this today, and I apologize to anybody who came to the game to watch it.”
