Live Blog: Auburn at Ole Miss

We are live from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. for today’s SEC game between Auburn (1-5, 0-4) and Ole Miss (4-3, 1-2).

FINAL: Ole Miss 41 Auburn 20
Once again, mistakes and turnovers cost Auburn in the fourth quarter as Ole Miss snapped a 16-game SEC losing-streak and defeated the Tigers, 41-20, Saturday afternoon at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Fourth Quarter:

10:43 left – Auburn defense forces a 3-and-out of its own but an offsides call wipes out an awful 11-yard punt by Ole Miss which would have given the Tigers the ball at the Ole Miss 38. Instead, Auburn takes over at its own 21.

13:28 left – Bryan Rose makes a 39-yard field goal, his second of the game, and it’s 27-20 Ole Miss.

Third Quarter: Ole Miss 24 Auburn 20

3:06 left – Auburn takes over at its 27 after the defense holds Ole Miss.

4:38 left – Cody Parkey makes a 31-yard field goal, his second of the game, to make it 24-20. Moseley’s first incompletion of the game came on a deep pass for Blake, he’ s 9-for10 for 99 yards.

11:37 left – Auburn goes 3-and-out to open the second half and allowed its first sack, a loss of eight yards on third down.

13:53 left – Bo Wallace scores on a 1-yard run to put Ole Miss back on top 24-17. Wallace threw a 40-yard pass to Ja-Mes Logan to setup 1st-and-goal from the one as the Rebels came out firing to open the second half.

2nd Quarter: Auburn 17 Ole Miss 17

1:00 left – Cody Parkey makes a 46-yard field goal to give Auburn its first lead of the game 17-14. Parkey tied his season-long, matching his 46-yarder against Clemson in the season opener.

5:56 left – Tre Mason scores his second TD of the game on a 6-yard run after Moseley connects with Sammie Coates on a 42-yard long pass to the right side. Tigers go for an onside kick and recover.

6:31 left – Auburn’s defense takes advantage of the good field position and the Tigers take over at the Ole Miss 48.

8:38 left – Tigers offense has its first bad drive of the game, goes 3-and-out and losses a yard but Steven Clark’s punt is downed at the Ole Miss 6. Momentum has certainly shifted in Oxford compared to midway through the first.

11:19 left – Auburn takes over at the Ole Miss 46 after Randall Mackey fails to pick up a yard and 4th and 1.

13:56 left – Tre Mason scores on a 1-yard TD run to cap a 13-play 74-yard scoring drive which spanned 6:43 – the longest scoring drive of the season for Auburn.

Ten plays for 68 yards burn off the final 5:39 of the first quarter as Auburn drives down to  the Ole Miss 6. Auburn runs on 8 of the 10 plays on the current drive, though Clint Moseley’s scramble was a pass play.  Moseley is 5-for-5 for 28 yards and Tre Mason has 27 yards on seven carries.

5:39 left – On third-and-seven Tunde Fariyike’s snap soars over the head of Clint Moseley and Ole Miss’ C.J. Johnson falls on the ball in the end zone for a touchdown. 14-0 Ole Miss

7:14 left – Ole Miss scores on a trick play as halfback Randall Mackey throws a 25-yard pass to quarterback Bo Wallace who is wide open for the touchdown. Ole Miss is 3-0 when it scores first.

10:44 left – Auburn’s opening drive is an even 3 passes and 3 runs. Tre Mason had two carries for five yards to open the game then Clint Moseley hit Emory Blake for a 16 yards and a first down. The second series is not nearly as successful for the Tigers as Jonathan Wallace is stopped for no gain out of the Wildcat and a screen pass to Blake and dump pass to Philip Lutzenkirchen gain no yards.

Ole Miss wins the toss and defers. Auburn to receive in the South end to get the game started.

Clint Moseley replaced struggling Kiehl Frazier at quarterback and threw for 163 yards in the second half with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions. / AP

Clint Moseley makes his first start of the season today as he replaces Kiehl Frazier under center. Moseley was 13-for-21 for 163 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions and was sacked four times in the second half of last week’s 24-7 loss to Arkansas.
Frazier will dress but will be limited due to an undisclosed injury, an Auburn spokesman confirmed this morning.
Starting center Reese Dismukes, cornerback Chris Davis and defensive end Dee Ford are all hurt and did not travel to Oxford.
Bo Wallace will start for Ole Miss, which has also utilized two quarterbacks this season.
