DT Wright hears the chatter

Defensive tackle Gabe Wright said that fourth-quarter collapses have plagued the season. He said he a few plays on both sides of the ball to close out games could have made all the difference and quieted the negative chatter surrounding the team.

“1-5, let’s face it, it sucks,” Wright said. “The absolute truth is we’ve got guys talking about firing coaches. If you look at the national championship year, we we’re down in most cases in the fourth quarter and we had miraculous drives and miraculous stops.

“That’s something the offense and defense wasn’t just able to do in most cases. We allowed too many explosive plays in the fourth quarter and a the same time on the offensive side of the ball we didn’t many. So its one of those things we’ve got to keep working at and that’s what we stressed today.”
