Loeffler encouraged with offensive progress

Auburn offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler said he’s encouraged by the progress of the offense. Loeffler pointed to several close scores heading into the fourth quarter which he said is where the Tigers have had the most problems.

“We’ve got kids that are into it. They see how close we are,” Loeffler said. “If you go and you stop the film at the beginning of the fourth quarter besides the Mississippi State game where you had no chance because you had five turnovers, you see 24-20, 12-10 in the LSU game, 10-7 in the Arkansas game so they know we’re close. They just know that we got to get over the hump.”‘

He also said he went back to coaching from the press box because Clint Moseley was the quarterback and they felt he did not need the attention Kiehl Frazier does. Loeffler spent the LSU and Arkansas games on the sidelines in an effort to better assist Frazier.

“The reason that we did this at the beginning was because of Kiehl,,” Loeffler said. “He was a 19-year-old guy that went out there for the first time, he needed one-on-one contact. Clint’s been an older guy that’s been in the fray and we just knew that he didn’t me on the sidelines.”
