Lutzenkirchen, Young done for the season

During his post-game remarks Auburn coach Gene Chizik said tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen and right tackle Avery Young are done for the season. Chizik would not elaborate on the nature of either injury.

Lutzenkirchen, a senior, has 15 receptions for 139 yards this season. The Marietta, Georgia native will end his Tigers career with 59 receptions for 628 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Though he made the trip to Nashville, Lutznekirchen did not speak after the game but sent out a series of tweets.

“Sad to say it is over at Auburn. Thanks for the opportunity to play in O&B on Saturdays,” Lutzenkirchen tweeted. “It was the best decision of my life to be a Tiger. Hips been bothering me since fall camp and its to the point where I was hurting the team for me to not play at 100%. Gave it all I had. Sorry.”

Young, a freshman, started at right tackle the first three games of the season but was replaced by Patrick Miller for the LSU game and has not played since.
