Men’s Basketball: Denson ruled academically ineligible

Auburn junior guard Chris Denson was ruled academically ineligible for the Fall semester but is eligible to practice, the team announced in a statement Tuesday night.

“I am disappointed Chris did not live up to his expectations, but we support him and will provide him with all the resources he needs to be successful,” Auburn coach Tony Barbee said in the statement.

Densonwas Auburn’s second-leading returning scorer averaging 8.7 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 30 games played with eight starts for the Tigers in 2011-12.

The Tigers host Victory University in an exhibition Tuesday night at Auburn Arena.
