Auburn men’s basketball to play in 2013 Puerto Rico Tip-Off

The Auburn men’s basketball team will be a participant in the 2013 Puerto Rico Tip-Off, Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo! reported Friday morning.

The field for the seventh annual event includes Auburn, Charlotte, Florida State, Georgetown, Kansas State, Long Beach State, Michigan and VCU.

The 2013 Puerto Rico Tip-Off will feature a bracket format with 12 games over three days. Each team will compete in one game per day, advancing through the bracket. The two teams that remain undefeated throughout will face off in a  game on the final day of competition.

Exact dates and games for the event will be announced at a later date. The event is historically held the weekend before Thanksgiving, which would be Nov. 21-24, 2013.

The Auburn football team has a bye week the weekend of Nov. 23 between home games with Georgia and Alabama.
