Reports: Christian Westerman to transfer to Arizona State

Offensive lineman Christian Westerman, one of the top recruits of Auburn’s 2011 signing class, is transferring to Arizona State, according to reports by AuburnSports.com and ASUDevils.com.

Westerman, a redshirt freshman from Chandler, Arizona, was the nation’s top-ranked guard by Scout, the No. 2 rated offensive tackle by Rivals and No. 3 tackle by 24/7 Sports in 2011.

He was redshirted in 2011 and injured his ankle early this season and played in two games in 2012.

Westerman will sit out 2013 per NCAA rules and have two years of eligibility remaining.
