Hasina Muhammad named SEC Player of the Week

Auburn Hasina Muhammad was named the SEC women’s basketball Player of the Week following a pair of strong performance against George Washington and Temple.

Muhammad, a sophomore, tied her career-high with 21 points, including 14 in the second half, to lead Auburn to a 69-59 win over GW. She earned her first career double-double with a career-high 10 rebounds and added nine steals. She scored 16 points and had six rebounds, six assists, five steals and three blocks against Temple on Sunday.

It is the first time Muhammad, a native of Memphis, Tenn., earns the honor and the second Tiger to do so this season, following Tyrese Tanner on Nov. 12.

Auburn (8-2) will first take on Tennessee-Chattanooga (8-1) at 6 p.m. Wednesday before taking on Jacksonville (4-5) at 2 p.m. Saturday
