Tigers land fourth hoops commit in Dion Wade

AUBURN –While Auburn may be struggling to convert on the court, its efforts off the court got a boost as the Tigers landed their fourth commitment to the 2013 class Friday afternoon. Dion Wade, a shooting guard from Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nev. announced his commitment to Auburn via Twitter Friday afternoon.

“Just made the decision that I’m comitting [sic] to auburn university, feels great to be a part of the family! #tigers #wareagle,” Wade tweeted.

The 6-foot-7 Wade is rated a three-star prospect by Rivals.com and two-star by Scout.

A USA Today article in Oct. 2012 about Findlay Prep, the No. 1 boy’s basketball team in the nation, mentioned Wade as being “the Pilots’ best-kept secret.”

Wade will join Findlay Prep teammate Benas Griciunas, Ronald Delph and Tahj Shamsid-Deen, who all signed with Auburn in the fall.

Griciunas scored 11 points and Wade had five in Findlay Prep’s 76-51 win over Redemption Christian (N.Y.) on Jan. 5, according to a Las Vegas Review Journal box score.
