Five-star DT Montravius Adams commits on ESPNU, signs with AU

AUBURN — Consensus five-star defensive tackle Montravius Adams committed to Auburn live on ESPNU and signed his National Letter of Intent. Adams, who is rated in the top-10 prospects nationally by all three major recruiting services, is considered among the best defensive tackles in the 2013 class.

“It was mostly based on my family and where I think is the best place for me to go for the next three or four years,” said Adams, who chose Auburn over Georgia, Alabama and Clemson.

Adams, a Vienna, Ga. native,  visited Auburn this past weekend. The 6-4, 315-pound Adams had 32.5 sacks the last thee years, according to MaxPreps.

Adams joins a strong defensive line class along with defensive ends Elijah Daniel and Carl Lawson.

“That was very important,” Adams said. “You always need great players to play with you.”
