Johnathan Ford becomes third running back in class

AUBURN — Four-star running back Johnathan Ford announced his decision to commit to Auburn over Tennessee before a packed gymnasium at New Hope (Ala.) high school. Ford sent in his National Letter of Intent in minutes, becoming hte third running back in Auburn’s 2013 recruiting class.

The 5-11, 195-pound Ford ran for 1,669 yards and 27 touchdowns in eight games last season. Ranked the No. 15 running back in the nation by Rivals and No. 17 by 247Sports, Ford was named Class 3A first-team all-state.

He took an official visit to Auburn Jan. 27.
