AUBURN — Three former Auburn players have been invited to this year’s NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. Defensive end Corey Lemonier, tight end Philip Lutzenkirchen and running back Onterio McCalebb are among the 333 players who have been invited to take part in this year’s Combine.

Lemonier chose to forgo his senior season and enter this year’s draft after a junior season in which he made 34 tackles and 5.5 sacks. The second-team All-SEC selection by the coaches announced his decision on New Year’s Eve.

Early draft projections have Lemonier anywhere from a late-first round selection to a third-round pick.

Lutzenkirchen is still recovering from hip surgery which cut his senior season short. He attended the Senior Bowl in late January but did not take part in any physical activity.

McCalebb also went to the Senior Bowl but weighed in at just 164 pounds – 15 lighter than any other player – and left due to a hamstring injury. He finished his Auburn career with 2,586 rushing yards – ninth among Auburn’s career leaders.

The NFL Combine is televised on NFL Network from Feb. 23-26 with tight ends appearing on the 23rd, running backs the 24th and defensive linemen on the 25th.

The 2013 NFL Draft is April 25-27 in New York.
